Aloha friends,
Finally some more info and pics of my progress.
The dio is situated at the beginning of OMG. It is situated near the Belgian-Dutch border and I'll probably call it "Past Joe's Bridge" Joe's bridge is the first bridge in Neerpelt. This is in the neighbourhood from Leopoldsburg where on 16th september the MG conference took place and was in the way of the road to Arnhem.
First of all some pics of the general layout. The groundwork still has to be done. The tank is just put together for the pics and I have to begin with the painting one of these days.
The tank is the AFV Club Achilles MKIIc. It is straight from the box. The only item that is a kind of a free thing is the resin toolbox on the side. I got this info from my father-in-law who is a blacksmith. He told me that in the war they did some repairs on British tanks, since Gen. Dempsey had his headquarters in our village.

Here's a detail pic from the backside of the wall. This is the Italeri church ruin. The backside was open so I filled it with plaster and scribed it with a knife:
The cobblestone street was made by scribing a plate of "isomo". I applied a wash with Ivory black oil paint mixed with zippo lighter fluid.
As usual are all comments appreciated.
s in advance. (couldn't resist this)

All I have to say is WEATHER. Everything looks a little too "off the shelf" for me. Paint the church ruin and weather that tank and ruin. If you are ambitious add more rubble of various sizes.

Nice update, looking good so far.
Couple of things I love the rifle on the turret. The construction looks solid.
The rubble could use a few large chunks to match the size of the large rocks in the wall.
On final placement I would turn the tank away from the buildng across the road the other direction. This will fill in the gap between the TD and the wall.
Did you scratch build the wall - it looks good.

Looks good !
My only thought would be, that if a building is so bombed out that basicly only one wall remains there should be enormous amount of rubble.
Anyway keep up the good work!

Beppie, Beppie, Beppie,
this looks very promissing !! You must have spend quite some time scribing the plate for the cobblestone....the result is awesome !!
What figures will you be using ?
Keep us posted, since this will be a great entry in the RMG Campaign !!

Jens, the idea is that these walls are the remains of an older bombing butr that has recently been hit again. But I defenitely will add some more rubble.
Danny,
No figures in this one. Still waiting for news on the video from Gino's workshop. I don't have any painting figure skills.
The scribing of the cobblestone road took me about a half an hour. After the first 300 stones you get the hang of it.

C'mon Bep...this dio is crying out for a figure...even if it's only one little guy with a roadmap..... use it to try out your painting skills.... If you want, I've got a nice article for you about that figure painting.

Danny,
Maybe I'll give it a try. You can sent me the article at [email protected].
Do you know any manufacturers that have British soldiers in their catalogue?

Both Tamiya and dragon have a nice set of british soldiers that could go together.
DML/Dragon
dr6055 British Commonwealth Troops
Tamiya
tam35223 British Infantry on Patrol
have to agree with the others ... at least one figure is needed!

One great setup is on the road to completion guy . Keep up till the end. the only thing i have to say is that the inside scribing of the church ruins show stones bigger enough than the outside, and if this a stone wall the stones should be almost the same size and if not so the builders use the biggest ones outside to give a better outer look (speaking a guy that have build a complete traditional stone house in Greece) Nice kit also, the metal barrel is included in the afv kit?

Yes,
The metal gun barrel is included. The tank has a working suspension. The only thing missing are the driver's clutches.
