Hi Robert, nice concept and set up so far. Looks as if it will come out real fine. The flamethrower's flame is awsome looking. Was that cotton you used? Also wondering if that is a air-cooled type 1941 7.7 m.m. M.G. and if you remember where you got it from? Fine models maybe, I could use one for my South Pacific dio I'm working on.

Hi Bob, thanks for comment. Well, flame is made from cotton pads ... (kind that is used for removing makeup, hope You understand what I mean). MG is taisho 3 woodpecker made by RPM, soft plastic... not as good as I hope it would be, but it will serve purpose. Bought it from Jadar hobby shop, Poland.

cheers

hi Robert
The layout is great
Yes , try to give a color variation to barks ,some brown washes may be,and then a light sand/grey drybrush
and generaly do the same to the green plants and leaves (some dark green wash and lemon yellow touches)

Keep up the good work

GREAT WORK, ROBERT!!! It's ABOUT TIME that someone paid attention to the VERY REAL WAR in the PACIFIC, instead of the ENDLESS TIGER Is, SS MG-42 Machine Gun Teams and big-mouthed pointing SS Officers on the Russian Front!!! This is TRULY REFRESHING!!! I'll be following this build with great interest!!!

You might want to add some dust on top of the vegetation from the artillery shelling...

Who is your source for the palm and banana trees? Thanks!

Thanks for tips Dennis and Dimitris !
Palms and banana trees are scratch built from paper and aluminium tape, trunks are wrapped with rice paper, there are some dried herbs on base and hemp rope for grass... everything I could gather around my house..

cheers
Robert

Not sure how I missed this project. It came out great, the stream from the flamethrower especially. What did you use to depict it?

Nice dio and great finish to the project. May I suggest that you buy a cheap piece of light blue hobby paper and place that behind your dio when you take pics? It helps us focus on the work and not the background? Just sayin'

would you be able to do a SBS for the flames, i can never get mine looking like flames, more just like painted cotton wool
