Just came across this tonight while shopping...

http://www.bmmmodels.com/MODERN_MECHANICS_135_TOPOL_SS27M_SICKLE_BALLISTIC_MISSILE_SYSTEM_WITH_PREMIUM_EDITION_UPGRADE_OPTION/p1144420_13923290.aspx

I know it's been on a whole lot of wish lists.

And if you have children to sell, there's a 1/16th upgrade. How big is a 1/16th Topol?!?

Whenever I see this vehicle, I flash back to the movie
"Spies Like Us"", and remember that insanely hot Russian
girl coming out of the tent with Chevy Chase.

I will buy it and never build it.

IIRC, the Russian girl tented up with Dan Aykroyd as Chevy Chase was with the American spy female from the non-decoy couple.

I really wouldn't deal with the company that is advertising this kit, Just google Boystown Military Models, the Britmodeller thread is really worth reading as it should be at the top of most searches.

Save you the trouble, get interesting after p3

Is there not another supplier of this kit other than BMM???? Are these kits even legit?? I can not find any reference to "Modern Mechanics" let alone finding a few BMM web sites that obviously spells "scam".

And about BMM...man, do they not know that negative reviews now have the 'faster than the speeding bullet' way of making it so everyone knows about their bad service? Even changing company names eventually catches up to business like them, but by then the damage, and theft of your money, had been done.

Armorama needs to ensure this "company" is barred from this site (et al) until, or if, this BMM company comes clean...if they ever do...

Finally, an answer to my problem of having too much money!

If only! I'll wait for a plastic kit, not that it'll be much cheaper!

This listing just doesn't smell right... and a 1/16th upgrade?!?! gimme a break. But hey- i might have said that about the large scale Dora as well before seeing it with my own eyes.

BMM in all their various disguises (changed trading name about 4 times in the past 2 years with a disclaimer each time) are to be avoided at all costs.

Rather than send them money expecting a kit(s) in return, simply put your banknotes in a pile and set fire to them.....at least you will get the benefit of the heat and light they give off!

I cannot recommend enough that you read the Britmodeller thread (see earlier post from Dan) about this lot.

After 'net searches using every title I could think of, I could fine nothing about Modern Mechanics anywhere, in 1/35th or 16th scale. Seems that BMM has the exclusive market on this 'manufacturer'...which has that 'too good to be true' feel to it. Question: how does one company get exclusive rights in selling a kit? And, how does the company make any money by going through a single 'hobby shop'?? It almost has me thinking that these people are photo-shopping and posting fake kits and box art. Great way to steal money with a fake web site, fake model kits...all from the comfort of your computer sitting on the sofa. I'm hoping someone can prove me wrong...however, it won't be from BMM!

Ya,and you can pre-order a Meng T-10M kit,a model that was just annouced with no release date, but they will take your money and have you wait an undisclosed time! very poor practice IMHO

I remember that when Dragon announced the Patriot system, they just showed computer drawings and someone said that DML said that it wasn't coming out anytime soon. Another tip off is the art work they showed on the BMM website isn't the same artwork DML showed. The BMM showed a different version of the Hemtt then DML.
