Howdy matt,
The URAL 4320 is nice kit. And yes, there are AM parts for it. Not many, but the offerings are increasing. I just recently picked up the 'House Body' conversion, kit #35 052, for the 4320 from Real Models. It's designed by Petr Hanus and looks to be a nice little 'variant'. There are also two different applique armour packages available as well. One of those is the Kosovo set-up.

Sorry, no GunTruck conversions for it as yet, but maybe we can talk animal into considering doing something with that idea!

To answer the original question,
It was/is used by any and all eastern block countries of the former Siviet Union and their satellite states. It was also exported all over the Middle East as well. I know for certain that Iraq used them since I destroyed a few in the war. Basically, it is equivelant to the US 5-ton trucks. It is also used heavily on the civilian side as well as a farm truck, construction vehicle, and oil field truck. think of it as the Russian Mack truck.

Howdy Paul,
As I said in my original post, I purchased it thru my local hobby shop, who got it from a company called Real Models. You can order items made by Real Models thru outlets like Mission Models.
The kit is completely made of resin, and comes with a new truck cargo 'floor', the one-piece 'Shelter' body, and about a dozen smaller ancillary pieces. The instructions are extremely simple, consisting of a one page line drawing of the 4320 with a two-view of the 'House' body.. Mouldings look pretty good, but there is obviously room for improvement.
Below is a picture of how it should look.

Hey matt, if you're thinking about the URAL GunTruck, there's a company that makes an aftermarket set of additional applique armour plating for the 4320 (mainly around the cab) that looks very neat!! It comes in both an Afghanistan, and Kosovo versions.
