I am planning on making a diorama where a tent extension on the back of a M577 needs to be constructed, so I am looking for any diagrams on how the tent was put up and how it attached to the M577. If I remember correctly, it kind of ties in on the top through the strap attachment thingies (can't remember the proper name), but I do not remember how it stayed up against the sides of the rear of the vehicle. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated as i have looked on the web and have mainly found stuff on the MCPS which is the more modern version of the tent and that does not really help me. I need info/diagrams of the Vietnam era canvas tent extension.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
James

Thanks, Keenan and Danny.

Those were helpful in regards to how the frame was attached to the vehicle. I greatly appreciate both the link to the PDF and the links to the pictures. I have those items saved in a folder for future reference when I start building.

Still need some more about the tent if anybody has anything.

Thanks again.
Cheers,
James

On the below pics you see a strip of metal on each rear corner of the hull. These pieces are attached with bolts that allow them to stand off the hull. The sides of the tent are tucked in under these strips and then tightened down, sandwiching the tent between the strip and the hull. That is how the tent attaches to the rear of the hull.

Thanks for the photos and the explanation, Gino. I appreciate it.

The M577 that I am building is the one I traded you for.

James
