Darren Baker takes a look at the Bronco Models release of the Versuchsflakwagon Fur 8.8cm Flak 37 Auf Sonderfahegestall (Pz.Sfl.IVc) in 1/35th scale. This is the version that went to Italy and may have been used in action.

Nice review, Darren. While not a big contributor to the German war effort, this baby still is pretty interesting to tread heads.

Beautiful vehicle... I have already built the Flak41 version and some time in the future will go for this as well

got this kit, lots of small parts & detail. She will take a while to build. Yes, I agree, a metal barrel would be nice.

It isindeed a wonderful kit, and as I wanted this version of it I substituted Dragon's excellent (if complex) Flak 37 kit #6287 TWO YEARS AGO to build this new version. It was a fine piece of kit-bashing indeed! And now everyone else can have one too!

Frank why did you do that when Bronco included the Dragon offering in the kit?

Well, the original kit that I had at hand had the Flak 41 and I wanted the original trials version so I back-dated it by substituting the other Flak 37 from Dragon only to have -naturally- Bronco release that version as well. Now I have both versions.

Frank, the Flak41 version was released by Bronco *before* the Flak37...

That's what he is saying. He bought the original kit with the Flak 41 two years ago, and replaced the gun with the Flak 37 so he could build the version that Bronco has now released two years later....

Ops when I read "backdate it" I thought he got first the flak 37.
The original vehicle used for trials was armed with the Flak 41, which was replaced afterwards by the 37 and put in service in Italy.
