I'm looking for people in the Lincoln Nebraska area who are armor modelers or info on modeling clubs in the area.

Well hello Doug. I am also another Nebraska modeler that is into armor modeling and just starting out in dioramas. I'm about a hundred miles from lincoln though, so I cant help you with your modeling club search. I dont remember what hobby shops are around down there, I used to live in Lincoln for a lot of years, but I do remember there is a hobby town usa, maybe you could check with them about clubs or maybe they would let you "post" something on a message board there and you could get one started. I wish you luck with your search

Hey Kevin, glad to see I'm not the only Nebraska medeler on Armorama.
I going to try and see if there is a club by going to Hobby Town but figured this was a pretty good place to find people first.

Doug,

I'll be travelling to Lincoln off and on for the next year. What hobby shops are in Lincoln and are there any local armor displays.

Hi Paul, well the Hobby shops are very limited. There are 2 Hobby Town USA's but they've gone away from model kits and more to RC cars and Card gamming. They do have alot of WWII armor kits but are mostly over priced. There is also a Hobby Lobby that I goto because they usually sell there kits about $10 under what Hobby Town sells theirs for.

As far as armor displays, there is some out by the State Fair Grounds here in Lincoln. I think there is an M-60, Sherman, and an M-113. If you make it up here in late August, Offutt AFB in Omaha has a really good air show and there is alway Army units with armor there. Two years ago they had M1a1, M2, M113, Hummers, and others.

Have you been to the Strategic Air and Space Museum on the way to Omaha? If so, what kind of exhibits do they have?
