HI!
Recentley I have completed construction of Academy's M-3 stuart, I painted it in OD with the idea in mind to paint it in the american colors included in the kit. Then I realixed that the only decal options for an american stuart is for one used in traininhg at Ft.Knox, my question is if you know of any color options, or have a pic of an american army stuart, that was in combat.
( I like markings from combat #:-) )
Oh I forgot to mention, it is the acaemy 'honey' kit.

I do believe that a few were used in the Pacific theatre if you look on the decal sheet it gives you a Japanese variant so I guess they got it from some where in the Philipines...Sorry not much help but at leasts there is hope..

The US Army did not use the M3 in combat, although as Rick has mentioned, it was used by the Marine Corps in the Pacific.
If you would like pics of the Marine's marking, let me know and I can scan some for you.

The 192nd and 194th tank battalions were the first us army tank units deployed for wwii.
These units used many M3's in combat and served and fought valiantly.
You can read all about the details at -
http://www.proviso.k12.il.us/bataan%20web/men_of_192.htm
http://www.ngb.army.mil/gallery/heritage/bataan.shtml
http://www.192nd.com/fallbataan.htm
In addition, Steve Zaloga posted a rather nice M3 on Missing-Lynx some months ago.
I am currently in the final stages of a very similar project. Just let me know if you want to know more about the M3 Stuart in use in OD.
Later,
Tim
