I'm having a bit of a problem with washing the tiny raised details on my MiG 21. I have no problems with the grooves but the tiny panel lines that are only a fraction of a millimeter in height and width just won't make the color flow. I don' think there's a brush narrow enough in the world or a hand steady enough to paint over them with a thicker mixture than a wash.
Any tips? How do you guys do it? The scale is 1/32 and I've been using a very thin dirty mixture (acrylic, water, alcohol) which worked for the flap grooves quite well (only needed to touch a few corners and the wash flowed nicely).

why not try dry brushing the same color over the raised details. Washes will, because of their thinness, always flow off raised parts like rivits. I think Drybrushing is the only way to go.

I used to use a very sharp pencil and lightly draw the panel lines against the raised details.
