Were there Churchill MK.7's fitted with hedrow cutters in the normandy area? The hedrow cutters I amthinking of are like the "cullins" device (I think). The metal, witht he "teeth" on it. Thats what I am thinking of, and did any Churchills use it in Normandy?

Well I guess you can never say never but I have never seen a picture of one...but I have seen a picture of a cromwell with one and also a firefly so.....we do know that the british did have a few cullins devices..Maybe the churchill was heavy enough and didn't need them ...who knows. I wouldn't do it unless you find that picture to prove it ..

Highly unlikely I would have thought, given the distance between the track "horns" and the front of the hull proper (about 2 feet before it even projects beyond the tank).

i dont think so chip,

ive never seen a picture of a cullins device fitted to a churchill, they seemed to be able to penatrate hedges without them,

like geoff says the design of the tank may have made it difficult to fit one. the front of the hull is way back from the track horns.

cheers

That makes a good point, I was just wondering. Seeing that the Americans fitted them to their tanks. But then again the Churchill was a beast and maybe she didn't need one at all.

Thanks again guys!
