Today I received Revell of Germany Leopard 2A4 kit I bought on a Polish auction website. I knew that it was old Italeri Leopard 2 kit with modifications to make it 2A4 variant, but I expected to find all old Italeri sprues plus maybe some extra sprue with parts from Revell.

Well, of course it indeed is Italeri kit, but it has been reworked. There are some new parts, but they replaced old parts on sprues and some old parts have been significantly improved. I compared the Revell kit with my old Italeri model and most obvious difference is that engine intake screens have been reworked - they now look almost as good as in Tamiya Leo 2A5! Well... almost... Anyway - they are much better than in old kit. There is several other parts that have been reworked and nicer details are there now.

This kit is still light years away from the quality of Tamiya Leopard 2A5, but at least is significantly better than original Italeri release. Pleasant surprise
