@John ;
THANKS!
I'll be plugging on with that big turret guy. The PE and barrel are somewhere in some shipping-container on some mega-ship slurging along across some ocean... It's like snail mail, for sure. I'm just hoping that the bits will arrive soon, as I hope to get this monster into a local model show late JAN...
Meanwhile, I pulled out those kit link-n-length tracks and put them together last weekend... I found that they cleaned up nicely and mostly went together quite well - and boy do they look just massive! I'm actually quite impressed - Trumpy did a good job on these! What's cool about the set is that the top runs are pre-sagged - a nice feature as the real things were generally saggy and loose-looking. The kit sag is not over-done, but one can deepen the dips if desired (some of the real things looked REALLY loose...). It should be noted by KV builders that the saggy top run was always accompanied by saggy and "bowed-down" sections below the idler and sprocket (when the beast was standing still) - the kit tracks assemble those areas as pretty straight and tight-looking, and these sections should be relaxed a bit to be consistent with a saggy top run.
I'll get a wip pic up soon.
Bob

Better then late then never!
Here are some progress shots, I started not too long ago, but wanted to wait until I had something of substance to post.
Like all things Zevezda, this kit has a boat load of parts, and is a very tedious build. Slow and steady on this one. I'm hoping to have this done by the deadline.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Jesper.
I'm thinking about the base like the boxart's scene.

Sounds cool, mr. K. If you got the "interaction" between the tank, figures, and snow ground work right, it will look awesome.
Looking forward to see more

Hi all!
I hope everyone's builds are going well. I am calling my KV-1 finished after adding some soot with Humbrol weathering powders - I do not think I will use them again as they are quite large particles - and fuel stains with an AK Interactive product. It took me ages of searching, trying to work out where the fuel tanks are and where the fuel would likely be spilt I could not find out for certain where fuel went during the refuelling procedure but decided the back engine deck would not be a silly place for some patches of spilt fuel.
Well without further ado, here are the pictures of the finished model, including the gallery shot
All best,
David

I have now finished my build for this campaign. The Dragon IS-2. A nice kit that goes together well.
I wanted to use this kit to perfect my muddy weathering skills. I am very satisfied with the results although I still have some way to go. Next time I think I should use a lighter coat for dried mud and then gradually build up the layers including the muddy paste. Well, there will soon be another tank kit to try that on
Comments welcome

Nice progress, Daniel.
Dave, as I recall Trumpeters kit has link and length tracks. It is a good kit and great value for money.
