I've seen the various references for the M706, but no pictures or actual descriptions of them in action. I was wondering how they were used in battle.

Convoy escort by MP units. Supplemented the jeeps with M-60's.

I noticed in the video that the vehicles were unmarked, except for what are apparently colored flags on the front. Were any unit markings and numbers edited out for the video, or was this a staged video deliberately using unmarked vehicles?

The vehicles in the video are early V-100s/XM706s (the three side windows is the easiest indicator). US Army units in Vietnam actually got their first vehicles from batches originally intended for the ARVN. So it's possible that these XM706s arrived without any markings and were put directly into action before anyone got around to dealing with that.

used mostly by MP's as road security (not convoy escort). Never saw one up north.
