Khoi (aka nineriverdragon) shows us his impressive 1/35 scale diorama depicting an emotional scene of a soldier reuniting with his loved ones.

WOW! I don't post very often but I have to say this is great. Something new and original, superbly done. Can you build a 1st Indochina war diorama now?

Your diorama is very well executed and, like all good art, tells an interesting story. The fall of South Vietnam is an often-forgotten event in the U.S. I want to order some of the Paracel figures and build a Type 63 APC, but my work is not in the same league as this.

A well-executed diorama and a great counter point to the childishly jingoistic 'bring it on Charlie' of a few months back.

Gaiphong!! Wonderfully detailed representation of the liberation of Saigon and the return of many thousands of Liberation Army soldiers ,many of whom left in 1945 and 1954 and only returned with the complete liberation of the southern part of Viet-Nam on 30th April 1975.

Total nonsense as this was just another Stalinist regime imposing itself on people with gulags and "re-education" camps costing millions of lives. But you are correct in calling Saigon as it still is Saigon. One day the people of Vietnam will be free of these goons.

Wow !,Hats off to a fantastic piece of work.It just goes to prove that despite being slagged-off the Trumpeter T-55 series of kits can really be made into brilliant show stoppers.

Amazing diorama! It is a piece of art, not political propaganda from a conflict long since over, and I thank you for sharing it with everyone, nineriverdragon!

A truly fabulous diorama, am I right in thinking it was based on a painting that was in the military museum in Ho Chi Minh city when I was there many years ago?
In the original picture there was a battered South Vietnamese flag lying on the ground.
And your name "nineriverdragon" is a reference to the Mekong Delta that flows into the South China Sea, yes?

Can we please leave the political aspects out of the discussion here. I neither celebrate nor mourn wars but build reminders of days gone by... if this forum turns political in nature, I'm out.

I am sorely tempted to make some snarky reply but unless you built it, you don't know who or what it was dedicated to or why.
Please don't spoil this great site with political rhetoric... if you built it, that is a different matter.

How do you know what it's dedicated to???
War is war and troops come home from either side.
It's just a very well done dio.Leave it at that.
