Been watching this since you first posted pics of your Tiger II. All the time & effort you invested really paid off. A really great scene!! The detailing & painting are both exceptional, and even the background lends an element of a dreary winter of defeat. Congrats, Luca!!

Luca,
I had more time today so I spent some of it happily looking at your great painting work here. The figs are awesome as well as the tank and the groundwork. Nice color palette for sure and I love the late war feel to the Tiger. Nice story telling as well.
Small suggestions? Since the ground looks pretty muddy, how about more dirt on the soldiers, specially on the trousers? Elbows, knees, lower legs, etc? Also, since the Tiger was very heavy,it doesn't appear to be sunken in the mud very much. The Germans had a bad problem in Hungary with armor getting stuck in the mud as it was very wet, rainy and a lot of melted snow, etc.
Small things I know,as the overall dio here is very very good. We all have to take the place of Romain now!!

Luca, a brilliant diorama. Excellent colors and figures. But I have to agree with Jerry, not nearly enough mud. The figures should be filthy (at least from the knees down). The Tigers tracks are way too clean. You have mud all over the rear fenders, but nothing on the wheels and tracks. Same for the cart. Those wheels should be sloppy with the stuff. Other than that, beautiful!

I understand your point, and agree that some more dirt on tracks can be added, but I am not a fan of mud…
Looking at many pictures I used for reference for this work, I didn’t see tanks covered by muds.
The terrain was wet, but not with soft mud. Here an example:

However, the King Tiger had very large tracks exactly to avoid that the tank could sink in the mud. I consider a quite common mistake reproducing tanks sinking in the mud. In most cases, they didn’t because of the large tracks, and puddles do not necessarily imply soft terrain and sinking tanks:

Here some pictures of tanks in spring awakening:

As you can see, no mud covering the tracks, even after the battle.
For what concerns the uniforms, some mud is normal on the edge of the trousers, but again, if you look at pictures, not so common on uniforms:

This came together great! I especially like how huge the KT looks compared to everything, that's in addition to all the other great points of this scene. I might even borrow this idea, as I've read more than a few stories of scenes like this.

Luca this is some stellar work. Your figures are fantastic- the skin tones in particular are very natural- they really bring the faces of each figure alive. Same for the uniform tones and there is a great multitude of gear worn here and it is all superbly painted. The groundwork, tank and the posing and positioning all combine brilliantly.

Luca, Your painting skills are astounding throughout! And you’ve done a great job of telling a story here. I really like the interaction you’ve achieved … especially the two soldiers sharing a cigarette.

Well done Sir!

Thanks to all for your warm comments.

I am fixed a couple of mistakes seen only after the pictures, I will post the final work.

Pictures are the best way to find out little things you didn't catch before.

Final touches done, amended some mistakes and added some muds on and under the tracks.

When a 1/35 scale figure still looks fantastically good even after huge magnification-priceless.
I am in awe of your painting Sir!
