Meng has just released a US Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialists and Robot set. The kit contains two bomb disposal figures in full protective gear and two bomb disposal robots with remote control laptop units.

The figures are clad in realistic bulky protective suits. One is in a standing position while the other is kneeling using a clipper to disarm an improvised explosive device made of two shells and a timer (included). One nice touch is clear injected face plates for both figures.

The kit two contains bomb disposal robots. One is a 510 Packbot with a remote control laptop and what looks like video came control unit The laptop has a keyboard and a screen. The other is a Talon EOD, similar to the one released by AFV Club. It too has a laptop style control unit with a screen but no keyboard. Both Robots have about the same level of detail as the AFV Club EOD with one piece track wheel units. The remote control laptops are a nice touch as is the control unit for the Packbot.

The Meng Specialist and Robot kit seems perfect for any "Hurt Blocker" diorama. Since the equipment is similar it might work in a state side bomb squad diorama
