Hello modellers!

Im telling you in advance - my english can be harsh, but its because of not enough practice in it. Anyway, I want to show you how I built my first diorama, I think it would be some how helpful and useful for beginners and experienced modellers.. Well, let me begin...

Before I started with a base,I did a little research.. This painting, which I chose for my diorama called "In the name of life", by russian painter N. But. The painting tells us about story of batalion of russian soldiers, which were forced because of nazi army massive attack on city Kerch to get down to quarry and survive down there for six months without water and food.

Those are photos from place where everything was happening.. Just imagining of people living, surviving, fighting in such conditions, make you understand what kind of power and inside strength had russian soldiers

I picked a bottom from one of boxes, which I found at my kids' playing room, of course while they were sleeping. Then from piece of paper made a template for a wall, which I later cut from old dvd cover

I glued some pieces of wooden sticks to strengthen the composition, then put foam, which usually used to seal holes and cracks between windows or doors and walls, when set up ones. Later, after it stiffened up, I shaped the mold with a sharp knife to make a corner where my soldiers are going to stand..

From leftovers I made a little ground work. Later on I will put some "rocks" on to base.. But for now- quick preview of how diorama will look. I already painted the figures, later, I will post the pictures
