Hello guys, it's been a long time since I post something here, but I always follow what is new, and it s hard to read all new posts. Here is my last finish project/diorama with Trumpeter 2S3 Akatsiya from Ukraine civil war. Kit is nice for the work, and it`s painted and weathered with A.Mig stuff. Figures are from various manufacturers with Hornet heads and converted to fit on the vehicle. Extra equipment on the vehicle are from my favorite brand Value Gear Details. Thank you for watching.

cheers

Absolutely awesome! I specially like the "textured" scratches on the turret back!

Cheers,

Looks good. The one question I have though is does the 152mm use bagged charges like a 155mm howitzer or brass case like a 105mm howitzer?

Hi guys, thank you for watching and commenting.

@Doug: 2s3 is response to American 155 mm M109. It has 152.4mm main gun. I used Skif shells for around the vehicle (from 122mm for 2s1 D-30) but they are like those that 2s3 is using (you can see on this link http://apolobg.com/all-ammunitions?page=2 ).
Maybe small difference in scale, but in my opinion not noticeable (for such a small part).

Overall it looks great. I really like the finsh and the setting. Very nice.

As to the 152mm ammo. It is a two part, semi-fixed ammo. It has a brass case w/propellant inside and the projectile which come separately in the box. There are a couple types of propellants. One is a fixed propellant molded into the case. The other has propellant charge bags like the US uses.

Mini Art does a really nice 152mm ammo set.

The 152mm round is quite a bit larger than a 122mm round though.

Wow Ivan, great work ! I have picked up the same kit few weeks ago and wanted to portrait the same theme. Trumpys kit is great and I like what you have done with it.

Thank you guys

@Gino: Skif 122mm is also two part ammunition, but I will look for MiniArt as you suggested and replace them if is there is big difference in size. Thanks for advice.

What a great diorama! Lifted right out of the headlines.

Fantastic work Ivan- its a great setting for the Akatsiya- really nicely staged. But the vehicle itself is just sublime- the paintwork and the weathering along with the figures really bring it to life.
