I have finally finished writing a LARGE article about accurizing and detailing Tamiya M2A2 kit. I also included a lot of information regarding the newer M2A2ODS kit.
I warn you that article is really long, with many photos. So if you are really interested in the subject, be prepared for long reading.
Here is the link to the article:
http://vodnik.net/index_m2a2.htm
The last part of the article (supplement actually) is extended information about ODS vehicles with information about differences between various M2A2 Bradley variants. You can find it at the end of main article, or go directly to it here:
http://vodnik.net/index_ods.htm
I hope you will find something interesting in my work...
Best Regards,
Pawel

This is great stuff Pawel, thanks for sharing your article... I have built Bradley couple of years ago when I was in the cut-glue-paint phase; now I'd like to build an ODS variant a bit more detailed and this article will be most helpfull.
Thanks,
Mario M.

Most awesome document, Mr. Vodnik.
IMHO not only modelers but even model kit manufacturers who have plans to produce an M2A2 should study your content. This really should be archived.
I've heard the that Tamiya M2A2 Bradleys were not even close to perfect, and your article indeed shows how short the kit falls in terms of accuracy.
Kinda makes you think twice before plunking down such a hefty sum for the kit's purchase price.

Perhaps it should have been titled "Everything You Wanted To Know About Bradleys But Were Afraid To Ask.... , however, my 2 cents... This is exactly the kind of material that has been needed for so long. A thread on a subject can be useful certainly, though nothing beats an article like this . Although briefly skimming through it yesterday it was enough to convince me that this is is going to be one of these articles that will make a difference. For my own part, now, I have the confidence to start building a decent Bradley. I might even post up pictures of the M2s and M3s I did OOB...As a warning to others.... , Thanks again Pawel, truly superb work....Jim
P.S. As a comment to others, this is EXACTLY the sort of material that is needed on this site. Something similar on the Abrams, Challenger II and the M113 anyone?

My article is quite large - it is almost 4 MB total size. Many photos in there just cannot be further compressed, because interesting details disappear And because of my less than perfect English, the article would just become incomprehensible without pictures. So, while I would be happy to see my article on Armorama, I'm afraid it is not practically possible.

Pawel

I think you are being a little hard on yourself Pawel. Why don't you consider a 2-3 part article rather than putting everything in one 'chunk' ? Articles like this are desperately needed here and would only enhance the site. As for the comments about your english...absurd!, There are native speakers here who cannot use the language as you can. It would be a real pity to allow an article like this to slip through our hands....Jim

I guess I will just ask staff_Jim about it and see what can be done.

I have serious problems with vocabulary sometimes - for example I heavily overuse the word "bracket", probably not using it correctly in most cases, but I simply don't know other words for all those metal little things attached to the armor of the vehicle. Particularly when I don't know what is their function. It was easier when I was writing my M923A1 truck article, as I had Technical Manuals and was able to find "official" names for most parts and always was able to find out what the part is designed to do. Unfortunately Bradley TM's are still classified and I was not able to get them

Your comment about 'specialized' vocabulary is v.interesting, I still find problems with some words in Spanish particularly with military terminology... Nice to see you're getting more convinced about the article... a few more 'pressurizing' posts should do the trick...Jim

Hi. I'll just add my two cents worth here, as the rest have. I thank you very much for taking the time and energy to do this simply fantastic article on this particular vehicle. And even though I will probably never have the skills to build this vehicle with all the changes and modifications you show, I really appreciate all the very informative advice and photos you've provided. It really gives all modelers, no matter what our skill level may be, or hope to be, a real inspiration and some fantastic close up photos of the real thing.
Thanks and take care, Sgirty

I think Treadhead hit the nail on the head. I dont think I could master all the steps mentioned but to have the resource at hand is unreal. Probably does Osprey out of their "How to model the bradley" book! This article has brought the recent thread about why advertisers use missing links instead of Armorama. Maybe some serious articles like this will tip the scales. This definately should be an article. It may take time but well worth the effort ... Im sure help will be available to tidy up anything if thats your only gripe!
Great stuff Vodnik! I have the older tamiya kit with interior and should benifit from a lot of these tips!

Unfortunately I don't have the full version of Adobe Acrobat necessary to convert documents to pdf... Or is there some freeware tool to do it?

I sent a PM to staff_Jim a few days ago asking him for some suggestions regarding coverting my article to some Armorama-friendly format, but didn't get a reply yet.
