I am thinking about buying a new compressor that is quiet, since I live in an apartment. Does anyone know if this is a good one?

I think you would be further ahead to go to Walmart or Sears and buy a small one with a tank for less money that can be used for other things such as tire inflating . More durable.

I completely agree with HastyP! You would be much better off with a tanked compressor.
For less money, and more versatility, you could get something like this: 7 gal. Air Compressor

yes go for a tanked compressor as ones without only run for about 20mins and need the same time to cool down also you'll get a bit less nose with a tank only when it fills up but you can get silent compessors machine mart in the UK do them cost a bit more but really make no noise and if you are concened about noise go for one of these

I agree with hasty....At $199 is way too expensive.. Goto wallmart and get the Cambell hausfeld hobby compressor for $99..even has a tank and can goto 90 psi as well so U can use it for other things...Its small and relativly quiet

Agree, agree, agree, agree.....
Go get one with an air tank from Lowes, Target, Walmart...... They have one with a decent size tank for right at $100. Mine only 'runs' and makes noise for about 2-3 minutes to fill the tank. Then I can usually paint for a while, can't really say, because each type of painting uses a different pressure or flow.... Very nice option.
