Hi Gang,
with all the releases of British tanks and vehicles lately, they might be a question whats the best match for Deep Bronze Green. I must confess that I am no expert on British tanks, but the colour on Darren`s Conqueror pics remainds me of RLM 67 Dunkelgrün. On the other hand I observed that the green colour on BOAR tanks with black stripes painted look a little like RAL 6014. Any thoughts on that?
TIA

Vallejo makes a Bronze Green that is dark, it might work.

If it helps I found that humbrol 163 satin dark green is an exact match to British Army green. Not sure if is has an RAL equivalent.

Just remembered there was also a darker green paint sometimes used that I believe humbrol 195 might be a good match for. Hope this helps.

Luddite that I am I still tend towards enamels; Revell Matt 65 Bronze Green - with a coat of gloss varnish - works for me every time. I say this as until fairly recently I had a gallon tin of MOD issue Bronze Green paint and was able to compare; factoring in a tad of scale colour then I would say go for Revell 65.
I have used the Revell paint on a Charioteer Tank Destroyer, a post war Dingo, and post war Jeep with (arguably) success.
In a fit of misplaced zeal in clearing out my shed, my wife threw the actual MOD paint away. Clearly, grounds for divorce.

I can't remember what I use for straight up Bronze, but for the BAOR striped tanks I use Tamiya German Field Grey for the green. Sounds odd, but looks perfect.

Per Mike Starmer, using Tamiya acrylics:
SCC No.224 Deep Bronze Green
Deep Bronze Green 224 replaced SCC 15 so DBG 224 is the colour for Korea.
Mix: 8 pts XF5 + 5 pts XF62 = Old dark colour.
You need a satin varnish over this for the depth of colour.
XF61 does not have red in it and thus not suitable for DBG 24.

I swear that I read that SCC15 and not Deep Bronze Green was used in Korea?
Also, I asked about Deep Bronze Green on another thread:

As most people perceive colors SLIGHTLY differently, and all monitor screens are not 100% identical (in color rendition), etc., etc., there will always be differences of opinion. ("My choice of color is the only right color, because that's the way I see it!") - not aimed at anyone at all, just a generality. Even color pics of a mint item will appear different under different lighting conditions. Choose what YOU perceive is the closest match.
