I am building a 1/72 scale diorama of a BTR-80 and some Soviet troops in Afghanistan. I've seen many pictures of BTRs in two-tone green and sand camo, but a few pictures online (from possibly unreliable sources) show that some of these vehicles were painted overall protective green. Is this color scheme accurate for the 1986-1989 period?.

Im sure its possible that some were still in soviet green
