Well here we are about 2 weeks till the end of the operation. As of last night I was 98% done now I'm about 93%. Photos are wonderful things, they show you things you may have missed as you work on the project. Such is the case here.
I still need to add some pastels to ground and make it more dirt like, I need to add some to some of the superstructure too. I see I could use a bit of wash on the trees/logs and bottom of the trench too. I want to add more 'stuff' to the trench too.

This is Emars Mark IV and British Tank Crew and figures in 1/76 scale (he Doc can I get a new pair of glasses? #:-) )
Comments always welcomed.

As always, a great work from one of our pros . Everything looks good to me. However, I found the tank quite light in the mud. Give the tank some "heavy feeling" by pressing it down a little. Also, add some tracks on the rear and/or at the front to show where he's going.

Good point. What you're telling me is I need to dry out the 'mud', it should be more dirt based than mud. Time to break out the pastels.
The tracks in back are there, just not coming through in the photos. You are right about the sides.
Thanks

I'll have to add another comment. As I have seen with some tanks (Shermans and the late M1A1), they carry chunks of dirt/mud in their tracks when they roll. I think this also apply to the early ones.

GW - the path of the Mk IV is intentionally left empty - trying to depict a bit of 'no mans land'
Maybe some branches or something....

The figures were painted with a base of tamiya Dark Yellow. Then I added a layer of thinned out burnt umber hobby paints. The pigment is very thick and my goal was to tone down the whole color and to add shadows. The details are a mix of burnt umber, kachi, and dark brown.

The wood is Star Bucks stir sticks (pretty hard wood) cut to size, etched for boards. Then I stained it first with wood stain Spanish Oak, then a second coat (thinner) of Walnut to fill the gaps.
