Hi Gang,
I had the pleasure to inside a Challenger 2 last weekend. As obvious, I orderd AA Challenger update set this week. Now I wonder if any company does a conversion for Challenger 2 "Megatron" EXCEPT Cromwell Models?

BTW A very cool tank and very friendly British soldiers!!!

IF ! you can get Terry (Castoff) to answer your request for purchase.

He has maintained radio silence for the last couple of months..

but yes, he does have Cromwell's mold now.

Maybe this is a hint from a guy at trumpeter models?
Look a little down in his post..
So maybe who knows...

If you can buy the conversion from Castoff models, do that ...
I had the cromwell conversion but i sold it some years ago but it was amazing...
So if you found Cromwells / think it is the same as castoff have now.. That he got it from Gordon at Cromwell then i can recomend it very much...

I bought the TES conversion from Castoff...very nice. Even if Trumpeter does do one, you'd need to figure out how to do the barracuda camo- the Cromwell/Castoff version has it molded right in

Even a little farther, he makes a Chieftain hint...and also mysteriously says the Tamiya Chieftain looks better than the Takom one.

I bought my Castoff products from Scale Link, good communication, very polite and efficient at mail order.

They do list this conversion.

And Hans-Hermann I ordered from Scale Link while I was still living in Germany and it all went very smoothly.

Cheers,

Some questions concerning Challenger TES:
1)Are there 2 add-on plates arrangements? I have seen photos of TES with add-on plates same as the trumpeter offering (9 long+1 short plate) and photos of the cromwell conversion with more add-on plates (11 long +2 short) on the side of the hull?
2) The main hull and turret in the cromwell conversion are the same as trumpeter offering but with barracuda netting?

Contained within the 'Cromwell' conversion were both sets of hull side reactive armor 2008 and 2009? I don't know if Terry (Castoff) includes both sets.

'Megatron' uses the latter larger plates. The antennas on the table behind the commander and loader are fitted according to the task in hand and can change daily or as newly developed ones become available.

Here is a link to my build here on Armorama. It may be of help to you. (Or not).

Thanks for your reply Keith! Your build was the inspiration for me to start searching info for the Megatron!
