If you so highly recommend it, why do give it only an 87% rating?

In my opinion, this review is a little light on detail, and has no description of the the assembly instructions. Also would have been nice to see some close up images of the parts.

Hi Al,

Will we be seeing a build review with it installed anytime soon? I'd love to know how much of that exquisite detail can be seen through the hatches! (Looks like it is a drop-in replacement for the kit trunion, right? Just add gun tube...) Might be well worth a maintenance scene with a heavy wrecker pulling the gun & rotor out of the turret face!

Hi Tom,

Yes, it looks a simple build and I'll add a few pics when it's done.

Cheers

The ratings are subjective, for me anything over 85% mark goes in the highlt recommended catagory. It's not a must have just a nice addition for Sherman fans. I'm surprisded no one else has done one before.

Hi Tom,

Assembled the breech this morning, takes a bit fo care and some of the fitting points need cleaned up but it certainly fills the space. Turret is from a Tasca VC Firefly kit I got about 5 years ago.

You can adjust the breech to fit you needs; firing or normal.

You don't need to use parts P2 of the Tasca kit, Parts F12 and C42 all fit onto the part with no problems.

Cheers

Al

How on earth did they fit three crew in there? I don't fancy the TC's position - the guard for the breach leaves him no room at all. But it looks VERY visible through opened hatches, so will be a must for future FF builds...

Hi Tom,

Yes, getting out of the tank in a hurry was a bit of a problem. I haven't built any of the Taska Shermans yet but as I've opened the box, I'll finish the job on this one.

Cheers

Al

That looks good, a great addition to the review. Too bad you would not see much of it in the tank. Would the Archer and Achilles use the same breech on the 17pdrs? It so, would be a great addition for the Archer and Achilles kit.

Hi Kevin,

As best I can remember both the Archer and Achillies come with the full monty breech wise as they are open top vehicles.

Cheers
