I bet it will do well. There are 3 manufactures making 1/72 scale kits. I bet we will see another one in 1/35th.

I don't see the point honestly. So you can build the parade version of a tank that hasn't even seen trials yet and likely won't look like this assuming it ever gets adopted. I suppose you can make a what-if with the kit but I prefer real options for my builds. I guess this one is all hype.

I personally welcome this announcement. In some years it may will be something like a collectors item. The very first of a prototype. Sometimes I dont get it. A lot of modellers wish for example an M1 prototype, or even more are backdating their kits to resemble a prototype or early version. And now this announcement is a dissappointment to some modellers? Sometimes I dont get it but I may dont need to. And its not really a what if.....it actually exists....It will not be fieldet in this form but how many models we have like this? Objects from Trumpy and Takom just to name a few. Also I dont think that battle experience is a criteria for a vehicle to be molded in plastic....be happy that its not in battle like many other military equipment.
Thanks Takom! Nice one, Thumbs up

I just don't see the appeal of building a very early prototype that may or may not even be adopted. Well, I guess my dislike for the concept of the T-14 probably sways my opinion on this kit too.

I commented rather negatively about this release in Hisham's T-14 thread, but with some afterthought I have changed my mind.
Whilst this is not a model I am particularly interested in, and won't be buying it, I can see the appeal for many to have a kit (in plastic!) of one of the worlds latest MBT's (albeit in prototype form).
Considering all the "trash talk" about this vehicle in a recent flame-filled thread, one could even consider this to be a bit of risk-taking on Takom's part, but then again there are thousands of modellers who don't frequent this or other modelling sites, and probably have no idea about the stir and negative waves it caused :-)
Takom can be congratulated for their innovative releases, and deserve a lot of credit for keeping their ears close to the ground and listening to what modellers are asking for.
I am still super excited about their Chieftains. Best news all year! :-)
Particularly Meng and Takom have really shown many of the other "big boys" the ropes.

Takom will actually show the other big guys something when it improves the fitting of its kits parts...
Still far far away from Meng or even Trumpeter on that aspect of its kits quality. Better than Panda, anyway.
Not ranting nor disqualifying, just a matter of fact.

The actual vehicle may a success or a failure, but for those who like to model a family of vehicles or vehicle development it shows the current thinking.
I'm happy to be finally get an f-16xl, many of the objects that were Russian prototypes and many others I never thought would exist.
It is a little frustrating I must admit when there are so many others never kitted with others getting their third or fourth makeover. British armour, FV 432 etch springs to mind.
What truly amazes me is the speed of kitting these days, the industry has truly been revolutionised, I only wish I was starting my modelling hobby in these days.
To each there own, there is enough being released to keep us poor in both cash and time that we can't complain.

I think this is an outstanding release. This is truly a "modern" main battle tank with a great deal of potential into the future especially if there are export versions.
It's great to see a fresh release of a new tank that showcases new defence technology.
The release of this parade version of the T-14 is the perfect way to potentially kick of a series of kits of vehicles within the Armata Universal Combat Platform.

I do not find this version appealing, but if they engineer the kit in a clever way they will be able to release the REAL version in the future. I personally regard the parade vehicle as a mock-up. I wonder how much of it is actually functional.

Takom is making a bold move here and mine is on order at Lucky models listed for October release. I must assume some company will issue new Russian crew figures. MasterBox Zvezda with all these current AFV releases there is a need. I must also wonder how soon behind can we expect a T15 from Takom

Hi;
It Never Fails to Amaze Me as to some of the Iconic remarks that some like to post. Its Quite Simple !!! If you Dont Like It then Dont Buy It !!!!!!! IMHO this is A Win Win for us Consumers, and Be It Trumpeter, Tamiya, Meng, Takom or A Cottage Garage type of Producer it only Makes for A Better Hobby !! Some People Build for Different Reasons; Some for the relaxtion; Some for A Collectors Stand-point; And some because they have Nothing better to do.
I Have Been Building Models for Over Fifty Years and have Built Everything from A-Z and Back Again and this is A Great Subject and Different !
CHEERS; MIKE.
