Mine was the same. While there's a cylindrical hole for the plastic barrel, with a flattened side as a key. This keyed side would blocked the metal barrel. I had to file away the keyed part to provide a fit.

What aluminium barrel? Trumpeter does not provide a metal option for the main gun un the JS-7 kit. I got two from different sellers and neither of them came with metal barrel, nor is it shown un the instruction sheet...
Why would you contact Trumpeter?
Am I missing something here?

Mine didn't have a metal Gun Barrel either, Maby they released some kits with the Metal Gun Barrel and some without. Voyager has 2 different metal Gun Barrels, I have one and it's really nice. It's available from hobbyeasy.com

I've a horrible feeling I was thinking of my Lowe instead. I'll confirm it when I get home and can check.

Neither the sprue shots or instructions on HobbySearch show a metal barrel, nor does the first look review here.

???

As I posted earlier in this tread, I have the actual kit, and the instructions don't show a metal barrel at all..

Did you purchase from a private seller who may have tossed the metal barrel into the box before deciding he didn't want to build it?

Maybe he just meant the plastic barrel, and then he wonders why there aren't holes on its muzzle brake. That is normal. you've got to bore holes for yourself.

I expect Mr. Que to come back and clarify his post, so we don't have to speculate what did he try to mean....

Well, I was indeed wrong. My IS-7 has a plastic barrel too. It looks like was confusing it with the Lowe one.

You men Voyager, not Trumpeter, right? The latter doesn't supply a metal barrel for their kit of the tank.
