I was in Hebron yesterday and saw an interesting IDF vehicle.

It was a Freightliner truck with an armored cab and on the back it was a slab sided, armored troop area. I gues you would have to know what it is to understand my description. Also forgive that I did not have much time to examine the vehicle!

There were some thick glass ports on the side and the back was open with a barrier in the center that soldiers would go around, much like the front of a bunker.

I would think this is a locally produced vehicle?

Also saw some M113 varients, but it was very quiet. Talked to a nice soldier at a checkpoint in the old city and he let me get some photos of him posing!

Hope to get permission for Gaza and hope to see more armor working there.

Later!

Shalom Eran,

Interesting vehicle it was.

How are you doing? I went to a model/hobby shop in a mall on Jaffa Rd. in Jerusalem. I came across it by accident looking for a FAX machine. I think it is called the Train Shop. They wanted over NIS 100 for a 1/72 Revell model. Are all prices that much, or do you just do mail order? Maybe you go to a shop in Tel Aviv?

If I remember, you are near Haiffa?

Afraid ther's only one other model shop in tel aviv, limited stock and high prices.
I am fortunate to travell a lot in my work, so i get to buy almost everything in the U.S.
