Hi all, I am curious which specific material do you guys normally use to make dioramas's groundwork? plaster, modeling clay, or anything else? Thank you!

for the base of my groundwork Sheetfoam cut to size, shape and contour with a hot wire cutter followed by a mix of glue, brown craft paint, water and Celluclay. once that is on I use Woodland Scenics.

A lot depends on where the ground is.
A flat desert scene will take much less to do than say a muddy ,snow covered area.
Is it strictly the ground you asking about?
Groundwork would also include trees and foliage, etc.

Sorry for the wrong wording, for groundwork I specifically mean the soil.
