I hope I am allowed to post this here, I am new here.
The last model I made was in 2004, so recently I decided to do a practice model, see if I can get back in the hobby. (I have a huge pile of unfinished kits)
It was a lot of fun, I am stoked to start the next one.

Of course you are allowed post here and welcome to the forum. The Revell Humvee is not a great kit compared to some of the other brands but I really like what you have done with it. Lovely setting!
Looking forward to seeing more of your builds

Welcome to Armorama! I think your Humvee looks good. I have to agree that the Revell kit isn't the best but you did a good job with it. I think the Revell Humvee was the first kit I actually finished many years ago.

Hi Oliver,
I used this stuff, it is normally used to prep drywall etc to lay tiles. it is coarser than normal grout. Added some brown paint to that. It dries rock hard, and matte.
I used the epoxy that I used to make the water in the ditch to give some of the mud a wet look. It was an experiment, but I think it worked out OK.
(Edit to add: I also added a few drops of the brown paint to the epoxy to make the water a bit muddy)

Welcome to Armorama! Nice to see a fellow Saffa here.
That is one dirty Humvee. I like the mud effects. The Revell and Italeri M998's build way better than the Academy kits.

Great work, John. I really like the vignette base and the work you have done with the model.
Looking forward to see more of your work.
