The gun had been moved from the proscenium to the WW1 exhibition. I visited the IWM early this year and was able to get some close up shots of the various parts not usually seen. I did incur a bit of a stir when seen crawling underneath, even more when i got my measuring tape out. It was cleared up however as I had sought permission to do it....pity the message was not transferred.

That's a nasty bit of business there. No wonder WW1 was such an awful experience for the poor slobs in the trenches.

It is strange, standing alongside this, it was difficult to imagine the death and destruction it could serve out.
