i just finished my latest dio and here are the resulting pics. the pics are kind of blurry and im going to retake them when i have time, but for now, its all i have. theres quite a few more in my gallery. i call it "fading hope" and it is set in august '44 and a german soldier realizes the war is being lost when he sees this abandoned 88 as he retreats back through france. i used dirt mixed with glue for most of the groundwork. i used static grass and turf mix for the grass. the tree is made of wire and the foliage is lichen sprinkled with herbs. i was originally going to enter this in the AGE campaign, but i scratched the table and what was on it other than the radio and headset. i dont know if that will be ok or not. ill just have to make another one if not.

Good construction, composition and layout.
My only thoughts are that the groundwork says mid summer much more than April in colder climates, particularly the tall green grass and the foliage on the tree. Here in New England, trees don't leaf out until early may and grass has not had chance to grow that tall. I'd also give the figure more of a mix and match outfit to make him look more end of war.

Hiya meissen. I like the lay-out of your dio, and I might have a little tip on what major goose suggested. If you use medical gause for netting, and you drench them in dilluted white glue, you can shape 'em as you like, and you'll get the natural "sag" as well.
Hope this helps, John.

Great weathering on the 88. Looks natural, but I think the Rabbit in Overalls is a bit out of scale.
Nice looking dio, I'd like to see it shot in natural light just to make it a little lighter (Hey it's -13F out today, this could be a good time to do it!!!)

Overall the models look great. The camo net, as has been said, is a bit weak and can be remedied easily.
As has been stated above, a gauze bandage soaked in a mix of water and white glue will create a more realistic droop and look more like a real net. Additionally, you'll want to add support cables and stakes for the poles and for the actual net as well. I've linked to an ok example. Not the best. But you can see the netting extends almost to the ground. The corners and middles (except for the barrel side) should also be staked to prevent the net flying off in the wind.
