Hey guys,
I'm after decent pics of a T-62 mantlet without its protective cover.
Google isn't too helpful and only return a couple of pics at a poor angle.

As an extension I'm wondering if the MIG T-55 'bare' mantlet could be re-shaped and made to work for a T-62. (Albeit with a fair amount of work).

Cheers guys,

James

The Trumpeter T-62 I bought came with both covered and uncovered. It was the early 62.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the info, Is that the 1962 model? What kit no.?
May be a help to search for the sprue pics and get a better idea.
I'm looking to perform miracles with the old Tamiya kit. (yes I love self abuse!)

Cheers,

James

Thanks Frenchy,

Always around to help!
Confirms my suspicions that the mantlet mirrors the T-55 one in general shape. The pic of the destroyed Syrian T-62 is helpful but like most I've found doesn't give a good close up view. Does anyone know of any photographed in a walk around??

Thanks,

James

If Photobucket were working right now I'd post a couple. I did several walkarounds of T-62's in the famed "Kabul" boneyard. Hopefully it'll un**** itself later.

James, yes, the 62 model. Same one that H.P. posted. But I must disagree, it's totally different than the 55 version. Not as tall, does not stick out as far and I think a bit wider.

Greg, understood that dimensions are a fair bit off but the ultimate design is pretty similar and plausible that some reshaping may produce something useable. Difficult to be 100% without being able to have a closer look at the T-62 version however.

Cheers,

James
