Hi Folks
Apologies if this has been covered already.
I'm building the Tamiya Tiran 5. A really good kit, but lamentably lacking in some details.
What I really need are some good images of the remote firing mechanism for the Browning M2 fitted above the 105mm main gun.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Simon
I've noticed you've asked this question on other forums, so maybe you've received better answer there, but here's what the mount looks like on a Merkava :

I guess you would just have to attach the triggering wire to the rectangular part with an oblong hole...

Could it look at all like the M1A1 Abrams TUSK barrel mounted M2 mechanism? I'm sure there are many photos of that out there. Also the CROWS mount M2 set up could be similar? Just wondering as I have no other references or insight to address that application.

Thanks very much gents
Unfortunately the vehicles you've referenced both use an electronic actuator, while the Tiran used a system of cables and levers/rocker arms.
However I am going to be building both Abrams and Merkavas in the near future, so your information will still be put to good use.
Cheers Simon

The two devices are completely different. The US TUSK version has a remote firing actuator attached to the side of the mg body. The electrical version used by the IDF is attached to the rear of the mg body. If I remember Prime Portal had some good shots of the Abrams TUSK version.

Hi Joe
Apologies I didn't explain myself very well. I meant the Merkava and the Abrams use electrical activation, different forms certainly, but electrical and not mechanical like the Tiran.
