This is my second armor build in 1:72 scale.
Although tiny, it was fun to build.
Additions to kit parts:
Tarp on fender, antennae, branches and tank commander.
Painted with Tamiya acrylics, weathered with Humbrol washes, chalk pastels and with Vallejo Matte varnish.
Cheers,
Joe

@Grauwolf – Joe,
Fine example of one of my favorite WWII German vehicles – the mighty Stug! Terrific job on the foliage, haven’t seen many modelers do this especially in this scale but yours is outstanding.
For future reference the German 2 cm antenna were approximately 3 MM in length in this scale. They may be fine but they do look a little tall in the pictures.
Again, thanks for posting and sharing your work here, great photographs too!

Really nice results, especially with the foliage!! I'm always amazed by the amount of detail some guys are able to achieve on these small vehicles.

I think you mean 2 meter antenna. One meter = 40" (app). So 2 meters = roughly 80", or roughly 6 1/2 ft. In 1/72 scale, around 26 - 27 mm, or slightly over 1" in height. But who's counting?
But they are a little long on the model!

Thanks guys for your comments. I will have to remeasure those
antennas.

Hi Brett,
Thanks for the comments.
I do build most of my aircraft in this scale.
I may wander into 1:72 scale armor.
Cheers,
Joe

Nice work Joe, since you have made planes in 1/72, venturing towards 1:72 is natural. Your work is realistic as a 1:35 scale. There are many works which you can explore with planes that you have made for a diorama.

Hi Eddy,
I remeasured the antennas on the Stug and the Tiger 1 and in
fact they were too long by 1/4in.
I have since cut them back to 6.561 scale feet = 2m as per
the real ones...they look much better.
Thanks again for pointing that out, I must have misread the
ruler when I first made them.
Some photos will follow as I have made a few changes to both
vehicles.
Have a great day,
Joe
