Hi folks
Here's my "tribute" to the Battle of Britain theme which is so popular recently on many forums. Of course please don't take it seriously by any mean.

The kit is well known Tamiya 1/48 VW Beetle or rather, as the box says, Volkswagen Type 82E Staff Car. It was build out of the box except the wall separating cab from the front storage. Decals were taken from the Tamiya HP Tilly. For the first time I have used in combat the AK "chipping effect" fluid. It worked good to me and for sure I will keep it for future builds.

ahem... The Bottle of Britain

The RAF did not use blue/grey during the war years. They followed the same camo guidelines that the Army used, as did the Navy.

The use of blue/grey has been perpetuated by restored vehicle owners and kit manufacturers, both of whom don't do their research properly. Ask Mike Starmer.

I attempted to put this right when I wrote Tilly Colours, but most have forgotten about this little book, written with the help of said Mike Starmer. Maybe I should have called it RAF Colours:-)

Thanks all for the comments and essential input. It will be a good source if I will decide to build any "historical" kit of, say Tilly or anything similar. This one had to be a funny "what if" and nothing beside that so taking care of the colour and schemes wasn't a priority at all.

Michal, your next build should be the Boodle of Britain.

This is quite possible - weekend's coming However I'm affraid there will be no "work in progress" pictures.
