were tiger tanks used in africa? i cant seem to find information on it.
the reason im asking this is because in a ww2 game i played tiger tanks were used in africa. is this true or just part of the game?

Yes there were early tigers in Africa ...you can use them and your game will be accurate...

Yes Early/Initial production Tiger 1's were used in Africa,mainly in Tunisia I believe.Some were a sandy colour (Dunkelgelb?) and some were painted green to blend in with the greenery in Tunisia.

Yes they were. sPzAbt 501 & 504 both had Tiger I's in Tunisia. The 501 had 20 and 504 were issued 20 also. Of those 20 the 504 was issued only 11 were shipped to Africa, the rest were left in Sicily. Info from "Tigers In Combat I"

The Tiger tank recently restored by the Bovington tank museum came from one of the two battalions deployed to Tunisia. You can read about its capture and restoration at this site.
