Does anyone know anything about the 160th in Afghanistan like their previous operations and equipment. I'm wanting to make one black ops models OH-6 conversions and want it to fit in my A-stan collection.

When I took this (and others) photos like this were very difficult to get. By now they're pretty commonplace on the net.

Like I said.
Anyone notice the model? Not the brunette or blonde - the plastic kit with only five main rotor blades?

If you want to build one, a fair start would be this set:

Unfortunately the current birds are all Mike versions, as in my photos, not Juliet. Not sure when the conversion started, but they were around in '08. Also, the tail rotor is not correct, as are several other details such as the exhaust shroud.

Photo #15, the plastic model? Yes I noticed it right away. Although I was still a little dreamy about photo #4.

For a modern Little Bird from the 160th SOAR as used in A'stan, you want to build an AH/MH-6M, the latest model with 6 rotor blades and other changes. Black Ops Models out of Australia does a couple conversion sets for them and I reviewed the sets on Aeroscale.

AH-6M
MH-6M

They also now offer new conversion tsets hat allow you to convert a standard OH-6A or an MD-500 kit as opposed to starting w/the Dragon AH-6J kit, which is OOP and almost impossible to find.

Also, check out this thread at Aeroscale for more info on AH/MH-6Ms.

You will also want a set of Warner's Wings 160th SOAR decals as well.

Be sure to post your build on the Aeroscale Rotary Wing Forum too.
