I am building a Marine Corp M1a1 from this Tamiya kit and have been told the drive sprockets are inaccurate. If this is true, is there a aftermarket one to replace it? Thanks in advance!

The drive sprockets are fine, just use the non-scalloped ones (A8 x2). They are missing the mud release holes though. There are four oval holes in the sides of the outer sprockets. You can drill/cut them out yourself if you want.

Gino,
Why did you say to NOT use the scalloped Drive Sprockets?
I understood that the scalloped versions are newer and just a simpler manufactured version that also saves some metal & weight.
Here are just three examples of USMC Abrams with them (images from the web):
Just wondering.
Tankbuff,
Here's another image of the Abrams Drive Sprocket's Mud Holes:

I thought he said that he was doing an OIF USMC M1A1. It is my understanding that the USMC didn't use the scalloped sprockets then. I reread above and see he didn't state that, so I guess it depends when he is depicting it from.

I asked about the drive sprocket in the kit I'm using to make a Marine M1a1 OIF. I had heard that the Tamiya drive sprocket was inaccurate. Sorry for any confusion gents.

Yup, for OIF, go with the non-scalloped sprockets.

On a side note, Blast Models has released the TAB (Towed Assault Bridge) adapter as seen in the last picture :

One more question for you guys and then I will stop pestering you. I'm assuming the Marine M1a1 had the TI box, but did they have the slave box? I've been looking for views of Carnivore and can't seem to find to many of this certain tank. Again, thanks for any help!

No, the slave adapter box is a later addition.
