Valkyrie Miniatures added new 1/35 scale figures to their catalogue. We published news of these releases back when they were still in WIP phase, but now the sets are ready for the market.

This fills some nice gaps that needed figures.

VM35014: look more like infantry in an armoured vehicle than than a tank crew. Which is a pity as they look well sculpted.

These figures (Brit) will be just fine; crews often wore their Combat Smocks over their coveralls. With a few minor tweaks they could be backdated to the earlier green combats and serve in both your 1:35 Cents and Conquerors, let alone Saladins and Ferrets. The cap badges - although a little large - appear to be those of the 5th Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, however, in 1:35 let's face it, one can modify easily enough. As a Cold War modeller, the Soviet figures will also be useful.

I would not mind that much if it was just the combat smock over coveralls but they are wearing lightweight trousers with gaiters and woolly pullys under the smocks. Which I never seen being worn on a chieftain not even by Ruperts.

The Lightweight trousers can easily be modified (sand off the pockets?) - but in all honesty these figures are clearly designed to be in the turret or driver's hatch so trousers won't show - ditto the gaiters (surely Anklets Web?!). The Woolly Pully can, in this scale, also pass for the earlier khaki heavy duty version (for earlier crews) although it might make sense to add some draw cords at the neck if one really wants to go to town; a bit of fuse wire would take car of that. I will certainly use these providing I can find a UK stockist.

It looks like Fields of Glory will be stocking them.
