The Hobby Boss T-38 just landed in Texas and I had to have one as I built the ancient AER kit about 10 years ago....it was real bad, but this kit is wonderful. The suspension units are 12 pieces each and look great in comparison to the AER parts.

The kit even comes with a former for the brass part.

First unit attached to the hull tub.

I would definitely replaced those plastic coil springs with self-made. Would look so much better.

Alex, good idea, but by the time I saw your note, I had already finished the suspension.

Is that top part on top of the spring parts a separate piece?

Scott, it's separate and you get the option of PE or Plastic. I think the plastic piece is good, rolling and bending a small PE piece is something to be avoided in my opinion.

A little further along. I wish they gave you the option to open the drivers vision slit but alas, it's Hobbyboss.

Those look similar to the pieces from their T-37A series. Greg, what is the number on the sprue? The T-37A part is 83818/12838055.

I was noticing that a few of the T-37As that lasted until 1941 had the spring guards as well as the wire hoops.

Kurt, I threw them out the other day, they are long gone. I can say that each bogie assembly was a small narrow individual sprue.

Quick and easy, ready for paint. One thing missing, no ammo drum for the DP turret MG, weird.

I got my kit today. All of the sprues are new, except perhaps for the tracks.

You only get one decal option for a Soviet T-38 from the Leningrad front, number 15 in a white outlined square, downside is that you only get 2 decals, and you need 3, being that you need one for the front of the turret. See below for a picture of the real tank, 2nd picture is my attempt using a decal and a brush to make the turret front marking.

Early phase of cobbling together infantry riders for the T-38. My early idea here is that some of them will be wounded with band aids, but like I said, I am very early on in the process...putty abound here.

The figures are pretty close to a wrap. They are all wounded(if you look close enough) and the T-38 is bringing them back from the MLR. Now it's time to finish up the tank.

Weathering on the tank is now complete and figures attached to the tank. The model was placed on a MIG turf mate for the photos.

Looking good greg!
Funny how small it is, the figures really put it in scale
