The old CE forum too often turned ugly when strong feelings were brought out by sensitive topics. The diversity of opinion on the site is one of its best points, but shouldn't the heated discussions be about the quality of the Tamyia Humvee or the lack of WW2 allied figures. Can't we leave our own disparate political opinions in the background for the sake of better relations amongst the members? There are plenty of places to voice strongopinions about CE, I would rather see heated debate about modeling topics on a modeling website.

Do we need them? Probably not. Do I enjoy them?
Don't get me wrong here. The OT forums and the discussions that got out of hand in there in the past, where on their way in causing the site to get a bad name if they where not stopped..... They stopped and no real harm was done I guess. Opening up that forum is ok with me, but I'm just not gonna tune in. If people want the forum back and Jim agrees with it, by all means open it up again. I will just stick to the modeling related subjects in the other forums.
