It would be nice if Takom, Tamiya or Meng released a 1/35 kit of this monster!!

That V-12 Liberty engine is quite interesting. This may be the earliest "aero-derivative" engine.
Can you imagine what the noise must have been like in there...

they're presently restoring, it'd be nice if they'd restore to fully working condition but probably too much to hope for! I'll be keeping an eye on this project.

Thanks for posting those Chris. I'll be having a detailed look at those later on with a nice glass (or 2) of beer.

Yes it would be nice and not only nice but an absolute must! Come on Meng, Tamiya and Takom. We've already had some great WW1 kits from you so let's have this monster too.

Great pics. One of the manufacturers has to do this beast at some point surely.

COMMANDER MODELS makes one of these in 1/35. Full-resin kit, available on ebay from 3weids, about $185 or $189 + shipping. I've been debating with myself whether I REEEEALLY want one of these. Should I wait for a plastic kit, or should I take the plunge..?

Thanks for the pictures, Chris. Good stuff. It looks like there's a couple of other "goodies" in the shop, too.

Just a bit of general FYI about the Mk.VIII "Libery" Tank:

The British originally designed the tank in 1917. Plans to build the Mk.VIII were delayed during 1918-19 because of material shortages and funding. Full-scale production of 1500 tanks was cancelled, but it was decided to go ahead and build 100 vehicles, using parts and components from the original production program... Only one vehicle was running by the time of the Armistice.

US versions were powered by the US "Liberty" aero-engine, while British versions used a Rolls-Royce powerplant. British versions used Hotchkiss MGs, while US versions used .30 cal Brownings. In 1925, a stroboscopic commander's cupola, similar to the French 2c unit was substituted for the original commander's steel box. The Mk.VIII tanks remained in service until 1932...

One of these in 1/35 would look great next to my COMMANDER MODELS diminutive Ford 3-ton Tank...
