Trumpeter 122mm M-30 Late - what is "late"?

Saw Trumpeter released a second boxing of the 1938 howitzer, but I'm not sure what era this is from. What is "late"? Is this boxing good for mid-late WW2 or is it a post-war version?

I have not been able to find any sprue shots or instruction images but my guess is that the "late" version uses a welded carriage.

All I can say is that the early, riveted carriage variant was still used in Afghanistan (1979-89) :
