Hello,

Can anyone help me to identify the Tiger S31?(in the middle of the page) http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/123718-tanzs-workshop/page__st__20 (By the way, the first picture I found of this tank. Maybe interesting for the tiif.de guys)

The Question is, if it is an early `early´ Tiger or an early Tiger. The stowage box and the missing track-holders on the turret indicate an early early Tiger. The Feifel-Filters are in my view an old-style production. But I am not sure.

Furthermore, I can recognize 3 camo colours. I would assume that the base colour is grey and the two others are green and yellow.

What is your suggestion?

Best wishes,

Moritz

The poster is taking those photos as proof that "8th kompnaie Tigers" had the Chinese symbol. But in fact, all of his photos show the same Tiger.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.

But what does it mean for the Tiger S31?
Do I assume rightly that S31 was an early early Tiger (early early mean; early Feifel Filters, holes in the front-plate, etc.) and that a three colour schema was applied?

It dates from around February 1943. It has the wide turret bin, S-mines, the driver's episcope, and the cut-away glacis plate originally made for Vorpanzer. The mantlet is standard (thick). The smoke launchers have been cut off. Apart from that, it's the same as the Bovington Museum Tiger.

I thought it was a Japanese symbol.... weren't they supposed to receive 2-3 tigers?

They were, but I don't believe they were ever delivered.
