Hi all, I have seen some painting guides adding X-22 Clear to the base-coat (about 3:1 ratio). So what is the main purpose of doing this? Thank you!

Hello
The reason is, if you use X22 clear then you get a smooth surface on your model, its better look and its better for later weathering and glued the decals on.

I add X22 to the Tamiya XF range to make a "Satin" finish..

Gives a eggshell finish, more resistant too.
