I use Artist Mineral Spirits (White Spirits) or Sansodor. The Sansodor takes slightly longer to evaporate.

Yes, it works identically to the MIG Prod. Odorless Turpentine. Both are superb for thinning oil paints.

Michael,
Is the Odorless Turpentine weaker than Distilled Turpentine?
Winson & Newton Distilled Turpentine dissolved acrylic paint I had on a styrene sample.

I don't actually know the answer to that question because I never use W&N thinners, but if it dissolved acrylic paint then I certainly wouldn't recommend it's use for our needs.
Regarding the modeling company products discussed -- I've never had one eat or dissolve an acrylic base coat, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say, yes, I'm sure they are no where near as "hot" as the art or hardware store brands.
