From Oosterbeek.. still a ways to go, but making progress..not too sure
about the red brick color of the wall.. it has been weathered and still
seems pretty bright.. comments and critique welcome..
Thanks... Chris

I think if you find thin enough silk it would make the job nicely. As for the red brick wall colour from what i can see seems a lil bright but i think that using some more pastel could tone it down. Have u aplied before lighter colour washes ?

Well, the red bricks on the wall look a little on the bright side indeed, but only just a little as far as I can see it....maybe a simple wash with a dark colour can do the trick here ?

I love the road and the fence....just excellent !!

In my opinion, the brick wall color is ok and will be very good when weathered...It looks a lil bright but this makes it different from the brick road.

Kancali,

I found some information that might me fun to know while working on this project. The building behind the Panzer is actually a bakery that was owned by the Witkamp family in 1944. The bakery, and so also your scene, is located in de "Weverstraat" in "Oosterbeek".

So far for this little background info. I'll try to scan a roadmap and point out the exact location on that map.

hi kancali thats a lovely dio you got their so far.

a few questions if I may.
how did you make that fence?
and the window framing looks extremly detailed do you have a close up from it?
if not can you make one and tell us (me) how you made that?
maybe a nice feature?

Thanks to all for critiques.. im leaving the brick wall as is and see how it ends
up.. then make adjustments as needed... Danny- many thanks for the extra info
on this photo, it gives me alot of options for detailing as i progress.. A Brit Para
with a piat heading down the alley with a loaf of bread tucked under his arm??
and I would love to see the map info if you can get it. (post or pm me).
Juul- the fence is .080" styrene channel for cross bars and piano wire for the
bars..drilled thru the styrene with an xacto and used zap-a-gap glue to secure.
Lots of measuring and a bit tedious but i was please with result.. still have more
to do.. The window is just various grades of scrap styrene.. ill try and shoot some
close ups on next update..

I'll get the map for you. You'll have to do with a todays map in the beginning, but in March I can get my hands on a 1944 British ordnance map.... I'll look after it that you get that one too.

I'm going to Oosterbeek somewhere between now and the end of March....I'll hunt down the exact spot where the picture was taken in 1944 and I'll shoot some pics how it's now....60 years later.
