Thanks for the review--I definitely plan to get this book. There is a small typo in the introduction--it was the LCVP landing craft that couldn't get over the reef, not the LVT Amtracs. They could surmount it, but were only available in small numbers, so the majority of the troops made the landing in
Higgins boats, and had to wade in under enemy fire.
