I don't know if my color sense is off or what, but I can't seem to mix up an off-white that doesn't look... dirty.
I'm looking for two separate off-white mixes, for two different projects.
For one, I need a "warm" white that looks clean, and not yellowed or dusty.
For the other, I need a very "cool" white that isn't too grayish (like Tamiya's Insignia White) or too blue.
I'm probably just overlooking something obvious to mix in to get these.
BTW - I primarily work with Model Master enamels, if it helps.
Thanks in advance!

This is what they do for oil painting, maybe it will work with MM colors.
Very small amounts of "yellowish" colors will give you "warm whites".
Very small amounts of "blueish" colors will give you "cold whites".

Yeah... that's the first theory I learned.
However, theory does not always translate into good final results.
The way it usually ends up for me (using drops of color into a full bottle of white) is drop... nothing. drop... nothing. drop...TOO MUCH!
It's aggravating.

What about a 50/50 mix of MM Ivory and white for the warm color and Camouflage Gray and white for the cool color?
Ivory is a gloss from the auto line of MM enamels but that shouldn't be a problem.

Those sound easy enough to try without blowing a whole bottle of white. Thanks
It's so frustrating, knowing what color you want but not knowing how to get there...
